The legends and myths surrounding the early life and career of Bob Dylan are so ingrained in the fabric of Rock musics history that getting to the truth is no mean feat. Tracing his career up to the point of his 1966 motorcycle accident and subsequent disappearance from the spotlight, this DVD uncovers a side of Bob Dylan never revealed before. Made in association with Dylan fanzine ISIS, this DVD includes extensive interviews and rare footage. Many rare photographs never seen before, from private archives, are also included as is rare Dylan film footage.
Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, and emerged in the early 1950s. The term rockabilly is a portmanteau of rock (from rock ‘n’ roll) and hillbilly, the latter a reference to the country music (often called hillbilly music in the 1940s and 1950s) that contributed strongly to the style’s development. Other important influences on rockabilly include western swing, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues. While there are notable exceptions, its origins lie primarily in the Southern United States.
The influence and popularity of the style waned in the 1960s, but during the late 1970s and early 1980s, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity that has endured to the present, often within a rockabilly subculture.
Joelle was asked by the TREEmagazine to make an indie Top 5-List! This was not an easy task at all! She had to choose the very best Indie-Songs ever. Independent music, is according to Wikipedia a subculture music that is independent of major producers; music of any genre can be labeled “indie” but it can also refer specifically to indie pop or indie rock… In my opinion she chose some great songs! If you think that something is missing in the list you can write a comment at the bottom of this blog-entry. MyTree.TV recommends the indie-feed for all music-lovers!

In this documentary, music makers hear from big name artists how hard it is to get into and get started in the industry of music:
Weezer made the soundtrack of SHREK 4

Arguably the most provocative band of the last 20 years, Rage Against The Machine have since their explosive debut, been the group most associated with the American protest movement. This film dissects the work and career of RATM and looks at their place in this always fascinating lineage of artists and performers who have spoken out on behalf of, and drawn attention to, the world’s marginalised, downtrodden and oppressed. Picking up the flame from a linear musical tradition going back to the War Of Independence, with the best known protagonists coming up during the 1950s and 60s civil rights movement via artists such as Pete Segar and the young Bob Dylan, the anger remained as brutal as ever during the final decade of the 20th Century in Rage and contemporaries like Public Enemy. FEATURING: Brand new interviews with; renowned Rage producer and engineer, Garth Richardson; RATM Biographer, Colin Devenish; the band’s live sound engineer, Dave ‘Rat’ Levine and the man who signed them Michael Goldstone. With further contributions from folk-protest singer and author Jerry Silverman, ex-’Rolling Stone’ editor Joe Levy, and Professor of American Studies and English at Washington State University, T.V. Reed.

Phil Collins – Going Back, Lyrics.
I think I’m goin’ back
To the things I learned so well in my youth
I think I’m returning to
Those days when I was young enough to know the truth
Now there are no games to only pass the time
No more electric trains, no more trees to climb
But thinking young and growing older is no sin
And I can play the game of life to win
I can recall a time
When I wasn’t ashamed to reach out to a friend
Now, I think I’ve got
A lot more than just my toys to lend
Now there’s more to do than watch my sailboat glide
But every day can be a magic carpet ride
A little bit of courage is all we lack
So catch me if you can, I’m goin’ back
Now there’s more to do than watch my sailboat glide
But every day can be a magic carpet ride
A little bit of courage is all we lack
So catch me if you can, I’m goin’ back

When looking at a tree, a typical person may not look too deep into it. Like the age of the tree, what might have occurred there, the memories it made for others, the reasons for the cracks in the trunk, the lifted roots… there is so much more beyond the tree. A tree can signify life, birth and whatever else you make of it. It can be a place of peace and calmness, a place to create memories, or a place of mourning. Looking at nature typicall … Read More
Beyond the trees
Nature’s reign is ending
Children unattended
Freeze
Beyond the trees
The world is so much colder
Dreams turn into soldiers
And bleed
The earth is turning
Kings are burning
The missions down
To the ground
As time passes
Cold bastards
Frighten me
Beyond the trees
Beyond the trees
Beauty’s lost in boundary
Insanity surrounds me
Here
Beyond the trees
If there is disaster
Is there something after
For me
The earth is turnin’
Kings are burnin’
The missions down
To the ground
As time passes
Cold bastards
Frighten me
Beyond the trees

The Tesla Roadster isn’t just fun to drive – it provides exhilarating electric miles with technology more efficient than any other sports car. An engine dependent on combustion will never attain the efficiency of the Tesla electric powertrain. The driving efficiency of a Roadster is 88% compared to 20-25% for traditional gas-powered cars. The experience of beating an equivalent gas-guzzling sports car off the line is exhilarating – and using less energy to do it makes the Tesla grin that much bigger. While hybrid (including plug-in hybrids with “range extenders”) technologies increase the efficiency of internal combustion, they are still less efficient than an electric vehicle like the Tesla Roadster.
Tesla vehicles are the only cars that get more efficient from the moment they’re first driven. The Roadster charges with electricity from the grid – whether the grid is dominated by natural gas or coal, or increasingly by solar and wind energy. And as the grid shifts to increasingly efficient technologies, Tesla vehicles reap the efficiency benefits. The opposite is true of a gasoline-burning car, which get less and less efficient as it ages. Plus, a Tesla can be charged with electricity created from 100% renewable energy – no other sports car can say the same.

A short film made by two Harvard students in history of science:

Dieses Baums Blatt, der von Osten
Meinem Garten anvertraut,
Giebt geheimen Sinn zu kosten,
Wie’s den Wissenden erbaut,
Ist es Ein lebendig Wesen,
Das sich in sich selbst getrennt?
Sind es zwei, die sich erlesen,
Daß man sie als Eines kennt?
Solche Frage zu erwiedern,
Fand ich wohl den rechten Sinn,
Fühlst du nicht an meinen Liedern,
Daß ich Eins und doppelt bin?
This leaf from a tree in the East,
Has been given to my garden.
It reveals a certain secret,
Which pleases me and thoughtful people.
Is it a living being,
Which has separated in itself?
Or are these two, who chose
To be recognized as one?
Answering this kind of question,
Haven’t I found the proper meaning,
Don’t you feel in my songs,
That I’m one and double?
The letter containing this poem with which Goethe included two Ginkgo leaves can be viewed in the Goethe Museum in Düsseldorf. The Ginkgo, planted in 1795, that Goethe lead Marianne von Willemer to in September 1815, is no longer standing today. Since 1928 the Ginkgo tree in the castle garden was labelled that it was “the same tree that inspired Goethe to create his fine poem”. The tree was probably still standing in 1936.
